Why We Built This Site
North Carolina provides several lawful ways to inspect record information, but no single office holds the complete picture. The Halifax County government directory and Sheriff's official page route county services, while the Clerk of Superior Court maintains filed charges, calendars, dispositions, and judgments for District and Superior Court. The SBI Criminal Information and Identification Section maintains fingerprint-based state criminal history. The North Carolina Department of Adult Correction reports state custody and supervision, with parole decisions handled by the Post-Release Supervision and Parole Commission. The North Carolina Sex Offender and Public Protection Registry is a separate public safety system. We bring the official contacts, portals, fees, and request routes for those custodians into one guide.

This is a privately operated reference site, not part of Halifax County, the North Carolina Judicial Branch, the Sheriff, or any state agency. Its role is limited:

- We cannot submit an expunction petition, public-record request, or other filing for a visitor
- We cannot obtain a record or conduct an official background check for anyone
- We cannot interpret a charge, warrant, or case as legal advice
- We cannot promise that an office's hours, address, phone number, or fees have not changed
An official record must come from its custodian, such as the Halifax County Sheriff, Clerk of Superior Court, or SBI Criminal Information and Identification Section. This site can explain the route but cannot issue the document.
